Mucky streak

Since I was last here, I've re listened to part of one of my favorite series and that is the elite guardian series by Lynette Eason. I don't watch many shows anymore, I don't have tv in my house, just the internet, and because I've got just internet, I listen to audiobooks and read books, which turn into my shows.

I have continued reading my squeaky clean mystery series, with mucky streak, book#7, and while you were sweeping, the in between books 7 & 8.

On the covers of most of the books, have a picture of Gabby, to give us a mental picture of her, and on the cover of while you were sweeping, there is a picture of Riley, Gabby's fiance. If you remember me telling you last time I posted my book review, that my daughter has been keeping up with the series also, she thinks that if she keeps asking me questions, I'll give in and spoil it for her. Here, I'll just give you my honest review of the book.

Christy Barritt is the author of this squeaky clean mystery series, along with many other books, and she has written this series to be a quick read with a storyline that keeps you sucked in till the end. She keeps the storyline going so you'll keep getting the next book. It's mystery/suspense, and that is my favorite genre, mystery, suspense. In mucky streak, Gabby and her fiance, Riley, are experiencing a long distance relationship, which neither is real familiar with. Gabby takes a break from her crime scene cleaning business, leaving Chad And Clarice to run things while she's gone. She's taken a different position, in a different state, to keep her mind off of not having her fiance with her. Someone has hired her for a job, in which has turned into a cold case that nobody has figured out, but many have been threatened or killed.

For anybody who likes mystery, suspense, romantic suspense, and has picked up one of these books, I pray you enjoy the series, and check out Christy Barritt's website for more books.

Read, part 2

Good afternoon everybody, so, the other day, I posted a brief post about what I've been reading or listening to, I've since finished the intervention series by Terri Blackstock and have started the capture, guardians of ga'hoole series#1-by Katherine Lasky, a series my 12yr old daughter just loves along with her wolves of the beyond series. But if you start her series, start with guardians of ga'hoole, you'll understand wolves of the beyond series much better.

I've also gotten 3/4 of the way through my squeaky clean mystery series, book#6, and it's getting really good. Have a great rest of your day folks, I'm gonna go back to listening while working.

Read

Ok, in the past two weeks, I've been with my mom in the hospital, and helping her out with running errands, dealing with my own out of whack health and preparing for school starting in less than two weeks, which has not totally allowed me a ton of actual allowable reading hours, but I've been listening to audiobooks lately.

I've got a few series that are my favorite fall back series, such as the intervention series by Terri Blackstock, elite guardian series by Lynette Eason, the moonlighter series also by Terri Blackstock, her new series with only two out, if I run and If I'm found, plus I plan to start a series by Kathryn Lasky, guardians of ga'hoole.

With school getting ready to start in less than two weeks, I'll have more time to sit and read. I'll hopefully be continuously getting thru my library pile and updating here. Have a great rest of your night.

Different books

Good evening book friends. I have since finished my last book of the squeaky clean mystery series, however, I got half way thru the 6th book when I realized that books 6 &7, were way late. So I'm now continuing listening to the intervention series by Terri Blackstock.

I've also got tons of books on my overdrive acct, hoopla, and of course my Amazon acct. But the library books and ebooks and audiobooks are first. I'll hopefully have more time this week to do more reading, of course while knitting and crocheting...😊.

The scum of all fears

The scum of all fears is a Christian fiction mystery book. It's also number 5 in the series of the squeaky clean mystery series. I'll tell ya, Gabby is somebody who'd I wanna know and admire. Gabby is a crime scene cleaner, now, I had never heard of a crime scene cleaner position before until I started this series by Christy Barritt.

In this book, Gabby is not only a crime scene cleaner, but she's interviewed for a Medical examiner position, in a different state, which is somewhat putting a damper on her upcoming nuptials. There is some bigger problem that's now affecting everybody she knows-a serial killer from her fiance's past, who had escaped from prison, skipped some states and who's on the warpath.

For whomever decides to read this, I'd suggest starting at the beginning of the series, which is hazardous duty-Christy Barritt. Have a great night folks, I'm off to continue reading.

Intervention by Terri Blackstock

Good Sunday morning everyone, I've just recently finished listening to intervention by Terri Blackstock, again. It's not a bad thing to like listening to certain series by your favorite authors, repeatedly, is it? I don't think so, anyhow.
OK, I'm gonna admit something here, I'm a very avid reader, and i love, love, love listening to audiobooks when I'm doing laundry, cleaning, or doing anything else outside of actually reading a book. So, Terri Blackstock is an awesome Christian author, she's got series I still have yet to read/listen to. Intervention is the first in her intervention series, followed by vicious cycle and downfall. Intervention follows the Covington family shortly after losing dad and husband to cancer, leaving mom to single parent her two teenage children and work all while grieving and eventually moving forward. I've thankfully never had to deal with drug addiction with my kids, however, knowing people who do, I give them praise. In the book, Barbara is about at wit's end with her 18yr old, drug addicted, still grieving daughter, who's gotten herself addicted to so much, you sit and wonder how she hasn't overdosed somewhere yet, thankful that she hasn't. Barbara is so frustrated and not knowing what else to do, she brings in an interventionist to hopefully help make her daughter's transition from fallen off the wagon drug addicted daughter to rehab.

The meet with the interventionist does not go anything like Barbara hoped for. Instead, she has to break down and admit it went just like the interventionist, Tricia, says it would. However, once the meet is said and done, Emily is packed and they are safely delivered to the airport, she tries checking off one stressor off her list. Just when she starts to relax a little, thinking things are going according to plan, she gets what you almost want to imagine as a frying pan to the head, finding after speaking to her daughter at baggage claim, that the final leg of the trip to rehab, goes very far south.

The suspense of the story following the events that take place starting with the interventionist's demise, the disappearance of the drug addicted daughter, and the ever so helpful younger son, added to her already full plate, would definitely make me want to crawl in a hole and forget to come out again. I understand her frustration of getting that call from Atlanta's police detective regarding her daughter's interventionist being quietly killed and her disappearance from the scene, nonetheless from the airport. While listening to it, I sat and thought to myself, if that were me, would i automatically want to believe that all that transpired in between hearing that my daughter is just an hour away from rehab, and getting a call from the state's police in which they traveled to tell me I needed to also head there directly to help find out the events that took place, on top of now searching for my drug addicted daughter? I'd have also called the police station to verify that this guy actually existed and that, yes, indeed, this incident did actually happen. Crap..... how many of us, mothers or not, tried thinking in our head of all the things you need to get done in a very short time frame, and coming back to the realization that, you're not gonna get it all done in time, and, on top of it all, you have to arrange for your younger child, who hasn't gotten carried away in the ways of the world, yet, to be placed with somebody who's gonna make sure they stay in school, do homework, behave and panic that they've lost dad to cancer, sister in a whirlwind of what you think, crime you've only heard about on TV, and now mom to help untangle it all. No way, that younger child has now added a really big monkey wrench to your overflowing plate, and you haven't had a chance to stop, breathe and pray that God will wake you up from what you're hoping is just a really really bad dream, and not having hubby there to help you figure it all out.

Fast forward close to a week, feeling like you're still in that clouded dream that won't seem to end, thinking you're just about reunited with your daughter, while you're son is safely on his way home via airplane, and you'll finally be able to sleep and get back to functioning like a somewhat normal human, when, yet again, another monkey wrench wreaks havoc. When you start thinking, as Barbara is, "man, when is this going to end. I'm so close to getting life, somewhat back to normal and then this, somebody, please just shoot me." Coincidentally, that almost does actually happen before this whole ordeal is finished. Imagine being that mother who's just about ready to crack, or who's in the cracking stage, adrenaline kicking in, and fear of nothing running the show you're about ready to end. When, thankfully, her knight in shining armor comes to the rescue to give her the fairy tale ending she has been hoping for way too long.

I myself enjoyed listening to this series, I hope you enjoy the review also and take time to either ready or listen to the last two in this series, vicious cycle and downfall. They'll get you hooked.

War room

War room,I just finished reading the book. I haven't seen the movie, yet, but we all know, the book almost always tells more than the movies.

War room is made from the same two brothers that courageous and fireproof came from. I figured it would be good, but when i started reading the book, that first chapter, introducing the main family in the book, I wasn't sure if I was really going to be able to stay reading it. However, once I got to the second chapter and beyond, I understood that intro to the family. If anybody has ever seen or heard Ms. Priscilla shirer, she is amazingly awesome and to know she is the main character in the war room, I was completely hooked.

As I continued to read, and tried to imagine Elizabeth/Priscilla as having marital issues, nonetheless, her having not as good of a prayer life as her recently acquired friend, client and prayer mentor, I was astonished. As I read about every meet between Elizabeth and Clara, and everything Elizabeth was learning from Clara on how to get deeper into her prayer life and to truly leave everything in God's hands, so she could be less stressed with life in general, she would be less likely to keep arguments going between her and Tony, her husband.

Elizabeth starts to follow Clara's teachings for a better prayer life and a better relationship between her and her daughter and her husband, and praise the Lord, her daughter starts to follow her mother in a better prayer life, and as they both start diligently praying for Tony, his job and his then new job and the people he routinely comes in contact with.

The way things started going between Elizabeth and Tony, thanks to Clara and of course, the almighty Jesus Christ, made me want to make my own war room and to start doing what Elizabeth was doing for her family.

What would happen if we all started doing that for our families, whether we all were Christians or not? By that, I meant we may be Christians, but some of our family and friends may not be. So, instead of hating and holding grudges towards ones who may have hurt us or done us wrong, maybe we should just start praying diligently for them, it'll definitely drastically change our outlook on things in life.

I highly recommend reading the book, war room before seeing the movie.
